Regular Meeting – 3/11/2025

Here is my summary of the Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 regular meeting of Allegheny County Council. My votes are in parentheses, as is the prime sponsor of each item. 12 members present (Futules, Macey, and Walton absent).

I was fortunate enough to present three proclamations to residents to District 5 this meeting: Molly Bozick for winning Allegheny County’s “I Voted” sticker contest, Grace Rayl for winning Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Miss Smiling Irish Eyes Queen, and Ed McManus for winning Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Allegheny County AOH Hibernian of the Year.

13411-25 (Executive – Yes) This ordinance would donate a small plot of land to the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority (ALCOSAN) for the purpose of its Clean Water Plan Project. Passed unanimously.

13433-25 (Catena – Assessment Practices) This ordinance would create a new “Tax Bill Disclosure Bill of Rights” to establish mandatory best practices for the inclusion of information on County real estate tax bills. Sent to Committee on Assessment Practices.

13434-25 (Catena – Assessment Practices) This ordinance would amend the County code to provide clarity on instances constituting the misuse of County resources for political purposes. Sent to Committee on Assessment Practices.
