Here is my summary of the Tuesday, June 18th 2024 regular meeting of Allegheny County Council (apologies for the delay). My votes are in parentheses, as is the prime sponsor. All 15 members were present.
There were a number of appointments made to the Friends of the South Park. All passed unanimously and I greatly appreciate the work those folks have done and continue to do to help make the park such a great resource to the south hills.
13108-24 (DeMarco- Committee on Public Works)
This ordinance would clarify what authorization is granted to the Department of Public Works for the issuance of things like temporary occupancy and highway occupancy permits. Sent to the Committee on Public Works.
13109-24 (County Executive – Committee on Budget and Finance)
This ordinance would authorize the issuance of a series of bonds by the county not to exceed $445,000,000. These bonds would cover capital projects like bridge rehabilitation, equipment purchases, road maintenance, and major projects like the improvement to the countywide public safety radio communication system. Sent to Committee on Budget and Finance.
13110-24 (County Executive – Committee on Economic Development & Job Creation)
This ordinance would approve the sale of a parcel of property on Demmler Street in North Versailles. Sent to Committee on Economic Development & Job Creation.
